Fix for my broken xbox 360 - Guide
There are basically two types of xBox
afflictions that can
get in the way of your gaming pleasure: three red rings and
graphics freezes. When either of these things happens, many
hardcore gamers scramble for the next sensible how to fix
broken xbox 360 guide.
If you’re one of those gamers who wailing out “Where’s the fix
for my xBox 360?”, then fret not, because there are several
fixes that you can do yourself.
-
Xbox 360 Freezing Fix
Freezing on your screen is only symptomatic of something more
serious, sometimes it can mean that your console’s temperature
is rising too high up. If you catch on this problem early
enough, you will save yourself a ton of money.
When you get a freezing, you can try the very simple method of
unplugging and plugging. Unplug your console’s power then remove
your hard drive. Plug your console back in. Now press the power
button. If the power goes back up, you can shut off the console
and put the hard drive back in. But this is basically just a
quick xBox 360 freeze fix. There are other remedies that you can
try if this doesn’t work.
-
xBox 360 Overheating Fix
Precisely because they have reduced heat
sinks, many xBox have overheating problems. To prevent this, you
need to make sure that your console is in a place that has
enough ventilation – a spacious room, for example. Do not even
think about enclosing your console in a cabinet or wrapping it
in a towel.
Also, do not put your console on a rug because dust and other
particles like your dog’s hair can clog it. For an xBox 360
overheat fix, make sure you’re blowing the vents clean.
-
xBox 360 GPU Fix
Overheating can also adversely affect your console’s Graphics
Processing Unit or GPU. Overheating can cause a console’s
motherboard to flex because flexing loosens the soldering on the
motherboard. (The lead-free soldering being used in xBox
consoles is more brittle than the traditional lead soldering.)
When this happens, one of xBox 360 crash fix techniques you can
try is the good old warranty. When the xBox was launched in
2005, Microsoft only gave a warranty of 90 days on all consoles.
The out-of-warranty xBox consoles were charged for $140 for
repair. Microsoft in July 2007 subsequently extended the
warranty of all consoles that suffered from general hardware
failure.
The main problem in the design of xBox consoles is that the LSI
heat sink (the cooling system) has been reduced
to accommodate a DVD drive. This invariably has led to xBox
consoles crashing on a very hot day. Overheating, as you may
well know, causes a break in the soldering connection in the
motherboard and causes all problems on the console.
The only downside to Microsoft’s repair centers is that it would
take at least four weeks before you can get your console back.
If you don’t have the patience for this, you can always do a DIY
and fix your console yourself. There are many
how to fix broken xBox 360 guides
that can help you on this regard.
